Free Bar Chart Generator
Use this free bar chart generator to turn a list of labels and numbers into a bar chart in your browser. Type or paste your data, and the preview updates as you type. You can choose vertical or horizontal bars and download a PNG or SVG, with no sign-up and no watermark.
- Enter plain numbers only. Leave out thousands separators, units and currency signs, so write 1000, not 1,000.
- The web tool handles up to 200 bars (categories) and 10 series in one chart.
- The example data is made up for the demo. Replace it with your own numbers before you share the chart.
One line per bar: a label, then one or more numbers, separated by commas or tabs. A first line with words names the series (for example: Month, 2025, 2026). You can paste cells from a spreadsheet.
You can also drop a file here.
Preview
1200 × 800 px. The preview is scaled to fit; downloads are full size.
The chart is drawn in your browser. Your data is not uploaded or stored.
Runs in your browser
Type or paste your numbers and the chart updates as you go. Nothing is sent to a server.
PNG or SVG
Download a PNG at 1× or 2× for slides and documents, or an SVG that stays sharp at any size.
Same chart from the API
Send the same settings to the API to get the chart as PNG, SVG or PDF from your own code.
Make this chart from your code
This request has the data and settings you see above. The API draws the chart on our servers with the same chart code and returns a PNG; set format to svg or pdf for those files. A chart costs 1 credit, plus 1 credit for each 5 MB of file after the first 5 MB.

A free online bar chart generator that turns labels and numbers into a bar chart, double bar graph or stacked bar chart in your browser and downloads it as PNG or SVG.
Key facts
- Input: one line per bar, a label then one or more numbers; a first line with words names the series; up to 200 bars and 10 series; an empty cell leaves a gap.
- Options: grouped or stacked bars, vertical (column chart) or horizontal bars, values on the bars, title, axis labels, main colour, size, text size, transparent background.
- Output: PNG at 1x or 2x, or SVG; drawn in the browser with Apache ECharts; the data is not uploaded.
- API: POST https://api.aiipworld.com/v1/jobs with {"op": "chart_render", "params": <chart>} and an API key returns the same chart as PNG, SVG or PDF; result.stats has the numbers it was drawn from.
- Free in the browser: no sign-up, no limit on the number of charts, no watermark. The API (POST https://api.aiipworld.com/v1/jobs, op chart_render, PNG, SVG or PDF) costs 1 credit per chart.
How it works
- Replace the example data with your own labels and numbers, one bar per line.
- Check the preview. If a value cannot be read, the tool names the line that needs fixing.
- Set the title, axis labels, main colour, size and text size.
- Turn on horizontal bars, stacked bars or show values on the bars if you need them.
- Download the chart as a PNG (1x or 2x) or as an SVG.

How to use the Bar Chart Generator
Start with the example data already in the tool. It shows what a finished chart looks like before you enter your own numbers. Replace the example with your labels and values, and the preview updates as you type. When the chart looks right, download it as a PNG or SVG.
This page is set up for bar charts only, so the chart type is already chosen for you. For a different type, open the Chart Maker page on aiipworld.com, which has a chart type menu. The tool is free, and it needs no sign-up or account.
Entering labels and values in the Bar Chart Generator
Each bar gets one line: a label, then a number. A first line with words names the series, for example Month, 2025, 2026. Several number columns create grouped bars, with each series in its own colour and a legend to show which is which.
Numbers must be plain, such as 12, -3.5 or 1e3. Separate the label and the numbers with commas or tabs. If a value cannot be read, the tool tells you which line and value to fix.
The example data is made up for the demo. It is not real statistics, so replace it before you use the chart.
Double bar graphs and grouped bars
Add a second number column to each line, and this double bar graph maker draws the two series side by side for each category. Each series gets its own colour, and a legend shows which colour belongs to which group. The first line can hold the series names, such as Month, 2025, 2026.
Use the main colour picker to set the first series. The other series use a fixed palette, so the chart stays easy to tell apart. Up to 10 series fit in one chart.
Stacked bar charts
Turn on the stacked option to place each series on top of the one before it. This stacked bar chart maker is useful when the series add up to a whole you want to show. Each bar then shows the parts and the combined height together.
You can switch between grouped and stacked bars with the same data. Compare both views before you download the chart.
Horizontal bars or a column chart
Turn on horizontal bars to draw the bars sideways. Long labels are often easier to read this way. Leave the option off to keep vertical bars.
Vertical bars are also called a column chart. This column chart maker gives you that layout by default, so you only need to change the option if you want horizontal bars.
Showing values on the bars
Turn on the option to show values on the bars when readers need exact numbers. Each number appears on its bar, so readers do not have to estimate from the axis. This is helpful for slides and reports.
Pair the values with a clear title and axis labels. You can type your own axis labels on any chart that has axes. Text size comes in 12, 14, 16, 18, 20 or 24 px, so you can make the numbers larger for a slide.
Download as PNG or SVG
Choose PNG for a picture you can place in a document or slide. The 2x option doubles the pixels, which gives sharper results on large screens. You can also make the background transparent.
Choose SVG for a vector file that stays sharp at any size. SVG files open in browsers and vector editors. PDF output is only available through the API, not in the web tool.
Size options are 1200 x 800 (default), 1600 x 900, 1080 x 1080 and 800 x 600. You can also enter a custom width from 200 to 4000 px and a height from 150 to 4000 px.
Bar charts from your own code
The API draws bar charts with the same chart code as this tool, so the same settings give the same chart. Send a request with "op": "chart_render" to https://api.aiipworld.com/v1/jobs, and put your chart settings and data in params. Authenticate with an API key, either as a Bearer token in the Authorization header or in the x-api-key header.
The output format can be png, svg or pdf. PNG can be 2x by setting pixel_ratio to 2, as long as the finished PNG stays within 16,000,000 pixels. Each chart costs 1 credit, plus 1 credit for each 5 MB of file after the first 5 MB, and failed jobs are refunded. Free accounts get 100 credits a month.
The result also returns result.stats, which lists the numbers the chart was drawn from. The page shows a ready cURL, Node and Python example built from the data and settings you entered.
Limits and privacy
The web tool does not open files over 2 MB, so use a smaller file or paste the data instead. You can enter up to 200 bars and 10 series. The API has its own limits, such as up to 20,000 numbers in one chart.
Your data is not uploaded or stored. The chart is drawn in your browser, and nothing is sent to a server to make it. The web tool has no watermark, and you do not need an account to use it.
Questions
Is this bar chart generator free?
Yes. The web tool is free, needs no sign-up or account, and adds no watermark to the chart. The API needs an account and an API key; the Free plan includes 100 credits a month, and each chart costs 1 credit.
Is a bar chart the same as a bar graph?
Yes, a bar chart and a bar graph are the same thing. This bar graph maker draws either one, and vertical bars are also called a column chart.
How do I make a double bar graph?
Add a second number column to each line. The two series are drawn side by side for each category, each in its own colour, with a legend.
How do I make a stacked bar chart?
Turn on the stacked option, which places each series on top of the one before it. This stacked bar chart generator uses the same lines of data as a grouped chart.
Can I make a horizontal bar chart?
Yes. Turn on the horizontal option to draw the bars sideways. Leave it off for vertical bars.
What happens to an empty cell?
An empty cell leaves a gap in the chart at that position.
How many bars can I add?
You can add up to 200 bars (categories) and 10 series in one chart.
Can I paste data from a spreadsheet?
Yes. Cells copied from Excel or Google Sheets arrive as tab-separated text, and you can paste them directly. You can also open a .csv, .tsv or .txt file.
Is my data uploaded?
No. Nothing is sent to a server to make the chart, and your data is not uploaded or stored.
Can I make bar charts from my own code?
Yes, through the API. Send a chart_render job to https://api.aiipworld.com/v1/jobs with an API key. Each chart costs 1 credit, and the Free plan includes 100 credits a month.
Need this in your app or in bulk?
This tool draws the chart in your browser. The API draws the same chart from the same settings on our servers and returns a PNG, SVG or PDF file, so a script or app can make charts without a browser. A free account includes 100 credits a month.
