In one sentence

A free online text style generator that changes plain text into 30 Unicode look-alike styles (cursive, gothic, italic, bold, bubble, wide, tiny, upside down and glitch) you can copy and paste, with all the work done in your browser.

Key facts

  • Input: up to 280 characters of text; letters A to Z and a to z are changed, digits only in styles that have digits, and spaces, punctuation, emoji and accented letters stay as typed.
  • Output: 30 styles in 11 groups (Cursive, Gothic, Italic, Bold, Bubble and boxed, Big and wide, Tiny and small caps, Weird and creepy, Flip and reverse, Bio and caption picks, Other), each with a Copy button that puts the styled text on the clipboard; the text is not uploaded or saved.
  • The styles are look-alike Unicode characters, not fonts: a search for plain letters usually does not find them, some fonts and apps show an empty box for some of them, and screen readers may read them badly.
  • Do not use styled text for a password; many sign-up forms accept only plain letters and numbers for a username.
  • Free, with no account, no human check and no daily limit, because the text is changed on your device.

How it works

  1. Type or paste your text in the box labelled "Your text". It holds up to 280 characters.
  2. Press a group button to filter the styles, or keep All styles selected to see all 30.
  3. Read the list. Each row shows the style name, your text in that style and a Copy button.
  4. Press Copy on the row you want. The button says "Copied" for a moment.
  5. Paste the result where you need it.

How to use the Fancy Text Generator

The tool opens with the sample text "Hello, world" already shown in every style. Replace it with your own words in the box labelled "Your text", which holds up to 280 characters. The list updates as you type, so there is no button to press to create the styles.

Each row shows a style name, your text in that style and a Copy button. The page opens on All styles. You can press any group button at any time to see other styles.

What a fancy text generator makes (and what it does not)

Fancy text is ordinary text with letters swapped for other characters that look like styled letters. It is not a font. A font changes how letters are drawn, while this tool replaces each letter with a different character.

Letters A to Z and a to z are changed. Spaces, punctuation, emoji, accented letters and letters of other alphabets stay as you typed them. Digits change only in styles that have digits.

Font generator free: copy and paste, no install

This is a font generator free of charge, and it asks you to install nothing. You do not need to add a font to your device. The characters come from the Unicode standard, so copy and paste works in any app that handles Unicode text.

The tool is free. There is no account, no human check and no daily limit. It has no API.

Unicode text generator: how letters are swapped

Each letter is swapped for a character from a Unicode block. Most come from Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols, which holds bold, italic, script, Fraktur, double-struck, sans-serif and monospace letters. Others come from the Enclosed Alphanumerics, Enclosed Alphanumeric Supplement and Halfwidth and Fullwidth Forms blocks, from phonetic letters and from combining marks.

Because these are different characters, a search for plain letters usually does not find them. A spell checker does not know the words either.

Big text generator: fullwidth and spaced out

Fullwidth (big) turns letters, digits and basic punctuation into the wide forms used in East Asian typesetting, with a wide space. Spaced out puts a space between every character. Both work as a big text generator for a short title or a single word.

Use these styles for short lines. A long passage in wide or spaced letters is hard to read.

Facebook font generator: where you can paste the result

This tool works as a facebook font generator in the sense that it gives you plain text you can paste into a post or a bio on any site that accepts Unicode text. A site may refuse or strip some styles. This page cannot promise what a particular site accepts, so test the result where you plan to use it.

The style groups at a glance

The 30 styles sit in eleven groups. Each group has its own button under the box. The Cursive Text Generator, Gothic Text Generator, Italic Text Generator and Weird Text Generator pages, plus the Instagram Fonts and Upside Down Text Generator pages, each open on one of these groups.

  • Cursive: Script; Bold script.
  • Gothic: Fraktur (gothic); Bold fraktur (gothic).
  • Italic: Italic; Bold italic; Sans-serif italic; Sans-serif bold italic.
  • Bold: Bold; Sans-serif bold.
  • Bubble and boxed: Circled; Black circles; Squared; Black squares.
  • Big and wide: Fullwidth (big); Spaced out.
  • Tiny and small caps: Small caps; Tiny (superscript).
  • Weird and creepy: Glitch (light); Creepy (zalgo); Creepy (heavy zalgo); Upside down; Strikethrough; Underline; Slashed.
  • Flip and reverse: Upside down; Turned letters (same order); Reversed text (plain letters).
  • Bio and caption picks: a shortcut that lists 12 of the styles above in one place.
  • Other: Double-struck; Monospace; Sans-serif.

Copy and paste fonts: what you paste

People search for copy and paste fonts or font copy and paste when they want styled text for a bio or a caption. This page gives you that: you press Copy and then paste the result. What you paste is Unicode characters, not a font file, so no font travels with it. How it looks depends on the device and the app that shows it.

Bold text generator, bubble text generator and small caps generator

The Bold and Sans-serif bold styles work as a bold text generator for plain text. Circled, Black circles, Squared and Black squares work as a bubble text generator. Small caps works as a small caps generator, with one exception: Unicode has no small capital X, so an x stays as you typed it.

All of these are the same kind of character swap, so the same limits apply. Test the result where you plan to use it.

Bold italic, vaporwave and Discord text

Bold italic is one of the styles, in the Italic group. It works as a bold italic text generator: type your text and press Copy on the Bold italic row. Sans-serif bold italic is the same idea in a sans-serif shape.

The Fullwidth (big) style gives the wide, spaced letters that are often called vaporwave text, so it works as a vaporwave text generator. This tool has no separate vaporwave mode, and it does not add katakana or other decoration, so Fullwidth (big) is the closest match.

You can use this page as a Discord text generator in the sense that it gives you plain Unicode text to paste into a message or a name. It does not add Discord's own formatting codes. Whether Discord shows a given style depends on the device and the font, so test the result before you rely on it.

Where fancy text does not work

Styled text works only where the app accepts Unicode text and the font can show the characters. Some fonts and apps have no picture for some characters. They may show an empty box or a question mark.

  • Sites that accept only plain letters and numbers may reject or strip styled text.
  • Search for plain letters will not find styled text.
  • Whether a given site shows, strips or blocks these characters differs, and this page cannot tell you for a specific site.

Screen readers may read styled letters one by one by their Unicode names, skip them or read them badly. Styled text can be hard or impossible to follow for people who use a screen reader.

Use it for a short name or a decorated word. Do not use it for important information, links or long passages.

Usernames and passwords

Do not use styled text for a password. A styled name can be refused by a sign-up form that accepts only plain letters and numbers. It can also look like a different name from the one you meant.

Use styled text for a nickname, caption or bio, and check the result before you rely on it.

Privacy: nothing is uploaded

The text you type is changed on your device, in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server, nothing is uploaded and nothing is saved.

  • There is no account.
  • There is no human check.
  • The tool is free.

Questions

Is the fancy text generator free?

Yes, it is free. There is no account, no human check and no daily limit.

How do I use a fancy text generator?

Type or paste your text into the box labelled "Your text" and find the style you want. The list updates as you type, and each row has its own Copy button.

Are these real fonts?

No. They are look-alike Unicode characters that replace each letter, not fonts that change how letters are drawn.

How does a Unicode text generator work?

It swaps each letter for a character from a Unicode block, such as Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols. Spaces, punctuation and emoji stay as you typed them.

Why do some letters show as empty boxes?

Some fonts and apps have no picture for certain characters, so they show an empty box or a question mark. Test the result where you plan to use it.

Can I use fancy text for a username or password?

Not for a password. Many sign-up forms accept only plain letters and numbers for a username, so a styled name can be refused.

Is fancy text bad for screen readers?

It can be hard to follow. Screen readers may read styled letters by their Unicode names, skip them or read them badly, so keep it to short names or decorated words.

Does a font generator free of charge need an install or an account?

No. There is nothing to install and no account. The styles use characters from the Unicode standard, so they work with copy and paste.

Is this a text generator that writes text for me?

No. This text generator only changes the look of text you type. It does not write or rewrite anything.

Is there a bold text generator here?

Yes. The Bold and Sans-serif bold styles turn your letters into bold look-alike characters, and Bold italic and Sans-serif bold italic are in the Italic group.

How do I make big text?

Choose Fullwidth (big) for wide letters, or Spaced out for a space between every character. Use these for short lines only.

Is the text I type uploaded?

No. The text is changed in your browser, and nothing is sent to a server, uploaded or saved.

Need images or PDFs from your own code?

This generator runs in your browser and does not use the API. To turn text or HTML into an image or a PDF from your own code, the render API does that. A free account includes 100 credits a month.
