Weird Text Generator
The Weird Text Generator changes your letters into look-alike characters that give a glitchy, creepy look. Type or paste your text and pick a style from the list. This page opens on the Weird and creepy group, so the seven weird styles show first. The text is changed in your browser, and nothing is uploaded.
- These are look-alike Unicode characters, not real fonts. Some apps and fonts may show them badly, or show an empty box.
- Screen readers may read these styles letter by letter, skip them or read them badly. Do not use them for information the reader must understand.
- Do not use styled text for a username or password. Many sign-up forms accept only plain letters and numbers.
12 / 280 characters. Letters A to Z and digits are styled; other characters stay as typed.

In one sentence
A free online generator that changes plain text into weird and creepy look-alike Unicode text (glitch and zalgo marks, upside down, strikethrough, underline, slashed), with the marks on each letter capped, all done in your browser.
Key facts
- Input: up to 280 characters of text; seven styles: Glitch (light) adds up to 3 combining marks to a letter, Creepy (zalgo) up to 7 and Creepy (heavy zalgo) up to 8, which is the cap; the same text always gives the same result.
- Some apps and sites strip, clip or limit stacked combining marks, and then only the plain letters remain; Upside down reverses the text, and Strikethrough, Underline and Slashed add one combining mark to each letter.
- The styles are look-alike Unicode characters, not fonts: a search for plain letters usually does not find them, some fonts and apps show an empty box for some of them, and screen readers may read them badly.
- Do not use styled text for a password; many sign-up forms accept only plain letters and numbers for a username.
- Free, with no account, no human check and no daily limit, because the text is changed on your device.

How it works
- Replace the sample text in the box labelled "Your text" with the words you want to change.
- Look at the seven styles in the Weird and creepy group. The list updates as you type, so you do not need to press a button.
- Find the style you like. Each row shows the style name, your text in that style and a Copy button.
- Press Copy on that row. The button says "Copied" for a moment, and the styled text is on your clipboard.
- Paste the text where you plan to use it, and check how it looks there before you rely on it.
How to use the Weird Text Generator
The Weird Text Generator opens with the sample text "Hello, world" in the box labelled "Your text". Replace it with the words you want to change. The list of styles updates as you type, so there is no button to press to create them. Each style appears as one row with its name, your text in that style and a Copy button.
Press Copy on the row you like. The button says "Copied" for a moment, and the styled text is on your clipboard. Paste it into the app where you plan to use it. The box holds up to 280 characters, so split longer messages into shorter parts.
The weird styles at a glance
This page opens on the Weird and creepy group. It holds seven styles, and each one changes your text in a different way. The buttons under the box let you open All styles or any other group at any time.

Creepy text generator: how zalgo text works
Zalgo text is the glitchy look that many people search for when they want creepy text. It works by adding combining marks to each letter. Combining marks are small accents and lines that Unicode defines to sit above, through or below the letter before them. The Creepy (zalgo) style places marks above, through and below each letter.
The result is a stack of marks that makes the text look broken and unsettling. The marks are chosen by a fixed rule. This means the same text always gives the same result, and the list does not change when you type unrelated text. Use the creepy text generator on short words, not on long passages, because the stacks get hard to read quickly.
Zalgo text generator and cursed text generator
The Creepy (zalgo) and Creepy (heavy zalgo) styles make the glitchy, stacked-marks look that people call zalgo text or cursed text. Use this page as a zalgo text generator or a cursed text generator: type a short word, then press Copy on the row you like. Glitch (light) is a milder level.
Why the Weird Text Generator caps the number of marks
The Weird Text Generator never builds a tall tower of marks. It caps the stack at 3 marks per letter for Glitch (light), 7 for Creepy (zalgo) and 8 for Creepy (heavy zalgo). The cap is the limit for the heaviest level.
The cap keeps the result more readable and more likely to survive when you paste it. Very tall stacks spill over the lines around the text. They are more likely to be cut off or removed by an app. A lower level is often enough for a caption or a short name, and it leaves more of your letters in place.
Upside down, strikethrough, underline and slashed text
Upside down reverses the order of your text and swaps letters for turned look-alikes. A few letters look the same when turned around, so they stay as you typed them. These are l, o, s, x and z, the capitals H, I, N, O, S, X and Z, and the digits 0 and 8.
Strikethrough, Underline and Slashed do not use the zalgo stack. Each one adds a single combining mark to each letter. The line, underline or slash sits through or under each character. These styles are a lighter choice when you want a crossed-out or marked look without the heavy stacking.
When creepy text gets stripped
Some apps and sites strip stacked combining marks, clip them or limit them. When that happens, you see only the plain letters. In other cases, the marks may overlap the text around them or spill into the next line. The result can look messy or hard to read.
Test the result where you plan to use it before you rely on it. Paste it, look at it on the same device and in the same app, and check that the marks still show. If the marks are removed, the plain letters are what remains, so the message still reads as your own words.
Where weird text works well
Weird text suits short, playful words. A decorated word in a caption, a nickname or a short bio line is a common use. A glitch or creepy look can also add mood to a title or a short message among friends.
Weird text is a poor choice for anything that must be understood or found. Do not use it for important information, links or long passages. Choose the lighter styles when you need the text to stay clear, and keep the heavier zalgo levels for short, decorative words only.
Limits: fonts, search and readability
These styles are not fonts. A font changes how letters are drawn. The Weird Text Generator swaps each letter for a different character that looks like a styled letter. Because of this, a search for plain letters usually does not find your styled text.
A spell checker also does not know the words, and some sites accept only plain letters and numbers. Whether a site shows, strips or blocks the characters differs from site to site. Some fonts and apps have no picture for certain characters and may show an empty box or a question mark. Try the result where you plan to use it.
Weird text and screen readers
Screen readers may read styled letters one by one by their Unicode names. They may also skip the characters or read them badly. For this reason, styled text can be hard or impossible to follow for people who use a screen reader.
Keep weird text for short decorative words. Do not use the zalgo levels for anything the reader must understand, such as a sentence with a key date, a link or a set of instructions. Plain text is the better choice when the message matters more than the look.
Privacy: nothing is uploaded
The Weird Text Generator runs in your browser. The text you type is changed on your device. Nothing is sent to a server, nothing is uploaded and nothing is saved. There is no account, no human check and no daily limit.
Because the work happens on your device, you can use the tool without signing up. The tool is free to use. Copy the result when it looks right, and close the page when you are done.
Questions
How do I make weird text?
Type or paste your text into the box labelled "Your text", then pick a style from the list. Each row updates as you type, so you can compare styles before you copy one.
What is zalgo text?
Zalgo text is text with combining marks stacked above, through and below each letter. It gives a glitchy, creepy look. The Creepy (zalgo) style is the tool's version of it.
How do I make creepy text?
Open the Weird and creepy group, then press Copy on the Creepy (zalgo) or Creepy (heavy zalgo) row. Use the creepy text generator on short words, since long stacks are harder to read.
Why does the tool limit the marks on each letter?
The tool limits the marks so the result stays more readable and more likely to survive when you paste it. The caps are 3 marks for Glitch (light), 7 for Creepy (zalgo) and 8 for Creepy (heavy zalgo).
Why does my creepy text look plain after I paste it?
Some apps and sites strip, clip or limit stacked combining marks. When that happens, only the plain letters remain. Test the result in the place where you plan to use it.
How does upside down text work?
Upside down text reverses your text and swaps letters for turned look-alikes. Some letters look the same turned around, so they stay as typed, including l, o, s, x and z.
Does weird text work everywhere?
No. Whether a site or app shows, strips or blocks these characters depends on that site or app. Some fonts may show an empty box or a question mark, so test the result first.
Is weird text bad for screen readers?
It can be. Screen readers may read the styled letters by their Unicode names, skip them or read them badly. Avoid weird text for information the reader must understand.
Is the weird text generator free?
Yes. The Weird Text Generator is free to use. There is no account, no human check and no daily limit.
