Cursive Text Generator

The Cursive Text Generator turns your letters into script-style characters that you can copy and paste into a bio, caption or chat. Type or paste your text, pick a style and copy the result. It is free, and you do not need an account. The text is changed in your browser, and nothing is uploaded.

  • These are look-alike Unicode characters, not real fonts. Some apps and fonts may show them badly, as an empty box or a question mark.
  • Screen readers may read styled letters one by one, skip them or read them badly. Use cursive text for short words, not for important information or long passages.
  • Do not use cursive text for a username or password. Many sign-up forms accept only plain letters and numbers, so a styled name can be refused.

12 / 280 characters. Letters A to Z and digits are styled; other characters stay as typed.

2 styles. Press Copy to put the styled text on your clipboard.

In one sentence

A free online generator that changes plain text into cursive (script) look-alike Unicode letters in two styles, Script and Bold script, which you copy and paste; the work is done in your browser.

Key facts

  • Input: up to 280 characters of text; letters A to Z and a to z become cursive letters, while digits, spaces and punctuation stay as typed.
  • Styles: Script and Bold script from the Unicode block Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols; the letters look like handwriting but are not joined up, and in Script eleven letters (B E F H I L M R e g o) come from another part of Unicode and can look slightly different on some devices.
  • The styles are look-alike Unicode characters, not fonts: a search for plain letters usually does not find them, some fonts and apps show an empty box for some of them, and screen readers may read them badly.
  • Do not use styled text for a password; many sign-up forms accept only plain letters and numbers for a username.
  • Free, with no account, no human check and no daily limit, because the text is changed on your device.

How it works

  1. Type or paste your text into the box labelled "Your text". The box holds up to 280 characters.
  2. Look at the result list. It updates as you type, so there is no button to press to create the styles.
  3. Find the two cursive styles, Script and Bold script. This page opens on the Cursive group. Press All styles or another group, such as Italic, to see other styles.
  4. Press Copy next to the style you like. The button says "Copied" for a moment, and the styled text is on your clipboard.

How to use the Cursive Text Generator

Start by typing or pasting your text into the box labelled "Your text". The result list fills in as you type, so you can see each style before you choose one. The box opens with the sample text "Hello, world", which you can replace.

Read the list and pick the style that fits your use. Press Copy next to it, then paste the result where you need it. The Cursive Text Generator changes your text in your browser, so the result updates as you type.

The two cursive styles: Script and Bold script

This page covers two styles. Script uses letters with a handwriting shape. Bold script uses the same kind of letters in a heavier form, so it stands out more in a short line.

Both styles change letters A to Z and a to z. Digits, spaces and punctuation stay as you typed them. Choose the style that gives the look you want.

Cursive font copy and paste: how it works

The cursive font copy and paste process is simple. Press Copy, and the styled text goes to your clipboard. Then paste it into any app that handles Unicode text.

You do not need to install a font for this. The characters come from the Unicode standard, so they work with what your device already has. Some devices may still draw a character as an empty box, so check the result where you plan to use it.

Why the letters are not joined

The cursive look here comes from separate characters. Each letter stands on its own, so the letters are not joined up the way real handwriting is. The styled letters are taken from the Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols block of Unicode, in its script and bold script sets.

Because each letter is a separate character, the result looks like handwriting at a glance but does not flow like it. This is a limit of the characters, not a setting you can change on this page.

A few script letters can look different

Eleven script letters come from another part of Unicode than the rest of the alphabet. They are B, E, F, H, I, L, M, R, e, g and o. On some devices these letters may be drawn in a slightly different look than their neighbours.

If you want a slanted look that is not handwriting, the Italic page on this site has that style.

Where the Cursive Text Generator works well

Cursive text suits short text, such as a name, a bio line or a caption. A short styled name or a decorated word stands out and stays easy to read. This is the main use for the Cursive Text Generator.

Long passages are hard to read in cursive, so do not use them for paragraphs of text. Keep styled text to a few words where you can.

Digits stay as you typed them in both cursive styles. The cursive styles do not have cursive digits, so a number in your text looks the same as before.

Search has limits too. Because the letters are different characters, a search for plain letters may not find styled text, and a spell checker may not know the words. A site that accepts only plain letters and numbers may reject the text. Whether a site shows, strips or blocks these characters depends on that site, and this page cannot tell you what a specific site will do.

Cursive text and screen readers

Screen readers may read styled letters one by one by their Unicode names, skip them or read them badly. For this reason, styled text can be hard or impossible to follow for people who use a screen reader.

Do not use cursive text for important information, links or long passages. A short styled name or a decorated word is the safer use.

Privacy: nothing is uploaded

The text is changed on your device, in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server, nothing is uploaded and nothing is saved. The tool needs no account and has no human check and no daily limit.

The tool is free and has no API. Your text stays in the box on your device while you use the page.

Questions

How do I make cursive text?

Type or paste your text into the box labelled "Your text", then press Copy next to the style you want. The result list updates as you type, so there is nothing else to press.

Can I copy and paste cursive fonts?

Yes, you can copy and paste the result with the Copy button. The styles are Unicode characters, so the copied text works in any app that handles Unicode text.

Is cursive text a real font?

No, it is not a real font. Each styled letter is a different Unicode character that looks like a cursive letter, so the result is a look-alike, not a font.

Why are the cursive letters not connected?

Each cursive letter is a separate character, and each one stands on its own. That is why the text looks like handwriting but does not join up like real handwriting.

What is the difference between script and bold script?

Script and Bold script both use handwriting-style letters, and Bold script is the heavier version. Pick the one that gives the weight you want for your short text.

Why do some script letters look different from the others?

Eleven script letters, B, E, F, H, I, L, M, R, e, g and o, come from another part of Unicode. On some devices they may be drawn in a slightly different look than their neighbours.

Do numbers turn cursive too?

No, digits stay as you typed them in both cursive styles. The cursive styles do not have cursive digits.

Does cursive text work in a username?

Not reliably. Many sign-up forms accept only plain letters and numbers, so a styled name can be refused or look different from the name you meant.

Is the Cursive Text Generator free?

Yes, the Cursive Text Generator is free. There is no account, no human check and no daily limit, and the text is changed in your browser.

Need images or PDFs from your own code?

This generator runs in your browser and does not use the API. To turn text or HTML into an image or a PDF from your own code, the render API does that. A free account includes 100 credits a month.
