How it works

  1. Look through the list, or type a word such as love, coffee or birthday into the search box. You can also type or paste an emoji to find every combo that contains it.
  2. To narrow the list, press one of the group buttons, such as Food and drinks or Party and celebration. Press All combos to see the whole list again.
  3. Press Copy under the combo you like. The button says "Copied" for a moment, and the combo is on your clipboard.
  4. Paste it into your message, bio, caption or post.
  5. To build your own, press Add to mix on one or more combos, then press Copy mix. You can also type or paste emoji straight into the Your mix box.

How to copy and paste emoji combos

The list is at the top of this page. Each card shows one emoji combo, a short name for it and two buttons. Press Copy, and the combo goes to your clipboard. Then paste it with the usual paste command, Ctrl+V on Windows or Cmd+V on a Mac, or with a long press on a phone.

You do not have to install anything or sign in. The page works on a phone, a tablet and a computer.

What an emoji combo is

An emoji combo is two or more emoji placed side by side so that together they say one thing, such as a mood, a joke or a short phrase. A heart-eyes face next to a red heart reads as a crush, and a sleeping face next to a moon reads as good night.

People also call them emoji combinations. There is no official list. The combos on this page were written for this site, and each one is an ordinary row of Unicode emoji, so the meaning comes from how people use them, not from a rule.

Emoji combinations by group

The list has 16 groups, so you can go straight to the kind of message you want to send. Press a group button above the list to see only that group.

  • Love and romance, and Friends and good vibes, for partners, crushes and close friends.
  • Cute and soft, and Aesthetic and cozy, for bios, captions and photo posts.
  • Sad and heartbreak, Funny and sarcastic, and Confident and savage, for moods and replies.
  • Food and drinks, Summer and travel, and Nature and seasons, for everyday posts.
  • Party and celebration, Night, sleep and spooky, and Holidays, for events and the calendar.
  • Work and study, and Fitness and health, for focus, goals and habits.
  • Emoji puzzles and phrases, which tell common sayings in emoji, for a guessing game.

Search for an emoji combo

The search box matches the name of a combo, a few extra words that go with it, and the name of its group. Type more than one word and every word has to match. For example, "coffee" finds the combos that have coffee in them, and "birthday cake" finds the birthday combo.

You can also search with an emoji. Type or paste a heart or a flame, and the list shows every combo that contains it. This helps when you know the emoji you want and need a partner for it.

If nothing matches, the page says so. Try a shorter word, or press All combos to clear the group filter.

Make your own emoji combination

Press Add to mix on any combo and it is added to the end of the box called Your mix. Add as many as you like, then press Copy mix to copy everything at once. Clear empties the box.

You can also type or paste emoji straight into the box, and edit what is there. The box holds up to 200 characters. Some emoji are made of two or more characters, so a long mix may reach the limit before you expect it.

Why emoji combos look different on different devices

An emoji is a code in the Unicode standard, not a picture. Each platform draws its own picture for the code. The same combo can look cheerful on one phone and a little different on another, but it stays the same emoji.

New emoji are added to Unicode every year, and a device needs a recent enough system to draw them. All the emoji on this page come from Unicode 14 (2021) or earlier, so most devices that still get updates show them. A very old device may show an empty box or a question mark for a newer one.

Tips for using emoji combinations

Short combos work best. Two or three emoji say the idea, and a long row of them is hard to read and can look like noise.

Match the combo to the place. A party combo suits a birthday message, and a calm one suits a bio. Read the name of a combo before you send it, because a joke emoji in a serious message can change its tone.

Screen readers may read each emoji aloud by its name, so a long row can be tiring to listen to. Keep the important words in plain text, and use emoji to add a mood.

Where emoji combos may not work

Some sites and forms do not accept emoji. Many usernames, passwords and form fields allow only plain letters and numbers, and some apps remove emoji from certain fields. This page cannot tell you what a specific site will do, so test the combo where you plan to use it.

Do not use emoji in a password. Emoji are a poor choice for a password, because you may not be able to type the same one on another device.

Privacy: nothing is uploaded

The list is part of this page, and the search, the copy buttons and the mix box all work on your device. What you type in the search box or the mix box is not sent to a server, and it is not saved.

The page is free, needs no account and has no daily limit. It has no API.
