# Free Packing Slip Generator > A free online form that turns your order details and item lines into a packing slip PDF (A4 or Letter) with optional tick boxes and optional prices. This free Packing Slip Generator turns your shipment details into a printable PDF packing slip. Fill in the form, list the goods in the parcel, and create the file. You can print it and place it inside the box so the receiver can check what arrived. Enter your packing slip number, order number and ship date. 2. Add your "From" and "Ship to" details. Add "Bill to" only if you need it. 3. List each item with its description and quantities ordered and shipped. 4. Choose whether to add tick boxes and whether to show prices. 5. Create the PDF and keep your own copy of the file. ## How to make a packing slip Start with the packing slip number and the date you ship. Then add the sender and the receiver. List every item in the parcel so the receiver can match the goods to the packing slip. Each item needs a description and the quantities. The tool prints the numbers you type, so check them in the PDF before you ship the parcel. - Enter the packing slip number and ship date. - Add the From and Ship to blocks. - List the items, then create the PDF. ## What a packing slip shows A packing slip shows the title PACKING SLIP, your packing slip number and the order details you enter. It also lists each item with its quantities and any notes you add. The receiver uses it to check the goods against what they expected. The PDF includes a "Total items shipped" line. This is the sum of the shipped quantities you type. The tool prints only what you enter and adds nothing else. ## Ordered and shipped quantities Each line has a quantity ordered and a quantity shipped. Use this to show an item that is not sent yet. For example, type 3 ordered and 0 shipped. The tool does not track backorders or stock. It prints the two numbers you type. Decimals are allowed, so 2.5 is a valid quantity. Quantities print rounded to three decimals. ## Show prices or leave them out Prices are off by default. A packing slip usually has no prices, so you can leave them out. If you turn on the price option, the PDF adds Unit price and Amount columns, a currency choice and a "Total value" line. The total value is the shipped quantity times the unit price for each line. It has no tax, shipping or discount. Amounts use US-English formatting, such as $1,234.50. ## Packing slip template and packing slip sample The form works as a packing slip template. Change the fields for each shipment and create a new PDF. Nothing is saved between documents, so keep a copy of each file you need. A packing slip sample is shown under the tool as example output. The sample PDF is one A4 page with tick boxes and no prices. It uses the fictional "Sample Goods Co." and was made by our engine from the form defaults. ## Packing slip, invoice and shipping label: what is the difference A packing slip lists the goods in one shipment and normally goes inside the parcel. An invoice asks for payment and has a due date. A shipping label goes on the outside of the parcel and is read by the carrier. This tool makes a packing slip only. For an invoice, use the invoice to PDF tool. Some people call a packing slip a delivery note or packing list, but these names are not always the same in every country. ## Ship to, bill to and shipping method Enter the Ship to details where the goods go. The Bill to block is optional. If both Bill to fields are empty, the block is left out of the PDF. The shipping method field is plain text, such as "Standard ground." It does not print carrier logos or tracking numbers. The tool does not check addresses, so review them before you create the file. ## Tick boxes and the packed by line Tick boxes are on by default. They add an empty box in a Packed column, so the packer can tick each line. You can turn this option off. The Packed by line is optional. If you add a name, it prints above a signature rule. Leave it empty if you do not need it. ## Packing slip PDF: paper size, margins and pages Choose A4 or Letter paper. The PDF has 15 mm margins on all sides. The item table repeats its header row on later pages. The packing slip design is fixed: a plain layout with a dark rule under the title and a light grey table header. You cannot change colors or fonts. The free web tool prints at most the first 10 pages. Check your item count before you create the PDF. For your own layouts, the HTML to PDF tool may help. ## Make packing slips from code You can make packing slips with the render API. Send one request for each document to POST https://api.aiipworld.com/v1/render. Include your API key in the Authorization header, and set the html and output "pdf" fields. You can also set format, margin and print_background. The request returns a job ID. Check GET /v1/jobs/:id until the status is succeeded, failed or timeout. The download_url is a short-lived signed link. This page shows a ready cURL, Node and Python example below the tool, based on your form entries. Failed and timed-out jobs are refunded. One request makes one PDF. ## Privacy: what happens to your data Your form becomes HTML in your browser, and the PDF is made on our server. Results are deleted after 10 minutes in the free web tool. No history is kept, and the download link is short-lived. Use only your own business details. Do not make documents for a person or organization you do not act for, as the Acceptable Use Policy requires. Anonymous use needs a human check from Cloudflare Turnstile. Signed-in users skip this check and use credits. ## Questions ### Can I make a packing slip for free? Yes, the free web tool lets you create a packing slip PDF without signup. The free tool prints at most the first 10 pages, and the form text must fit within 256 KB. ### Do I need an account to make a packing slip?
